long road Final

I choose to do the front of the collage because i wanted an authentic look to my dvd box. I choose to do the top left image because it was the clearest image and contained the part of the collage i wanted for my image.I added the a note book frame around my image and changed the contrast to black and white to give my picture a more dynamic quality.

I choose not to use this image in my poster because the old film style quality didn't fit with a bunch of teens who wouldn't be interested in black and white film.

The finished photo is very high quality but i wish that i had taken the photo in colour so that i could have used the image on the back of the DVD.

I am glad that i choose not to use the image because it wouldn't helped my poster also i wish i had done more to make the the image look unique.

Sam benstead final

My original intensions for these images was to use them for the back of my dvd or in the corner of my poster, i ended up using the individual images of each person on the front of my poster to show the difference in the characters.

I almost chose a different image but the darker tone of the hooded image didn't reflect my characters style.
I selected this image because it was the best image and looked like my original drawing as i was trying to stick to my design as closely as possible.

As you can see from my image i retouched the lighting and the colour balance in my image. Then i added a frame to my image that made it look as if it was an image was on a film real.
Over all i am happy with the final image and i am glad is i used it in my final project i like they old style effect i used to give the image character.

Henri Cartier-Bresson Blog post 3

Henri Cartier Bresson was born in 1908 in France where he was the oldest of five children. His father was a well of textile merchant which is how he was able to fund the Leica camera and 35mm film he used daily. In his later life he was considered to be one of the first people to popularise photo journalism because he took the best pictures at the right time showing the pain and joy that went on all around the world. He always worked in black and white and never developed his own prints Because he said "I've never been interested in the process of photography, never never".

This image is one of his most well known images of a man on a bike cycling round a corner. The reason this image is so popular is because its a timeless the picture anyone could have taken it at anytime. The image is in black and white as is all of his work.

Blog post 2 Gregory Crewdson

Blog post 2 Gregory Crewdson

Gregory Crewdson was born in brooklyn 1962 and he attended john dewey high school where he gained an interest in photography. In the mid 80s he began to study work and study at Suny pictures where he then received a masters in fine art. He now teaches at Yale university on other the top university's in America.

The picture I have chosen I on of his most famous pictures called the father which depicts a man sitting on a chair in a dark room while a woman stand in the light with her face away from him washing up the dishes this suggest that she does the work in the house and that the man just sits in front of the TV. Also the house is very dirty and has no wall paper or proper paint on the walls this also reinforce the idea that  the man is not doing any work for the up keep of the house.

The second image i have chosen is called sunday roast which depicts two people having a sunday diner a woman and a boy but is appear that someone is missing probably a father as he is not depicted in the image any where this image differs from the first one because the house is very clean and looks as if someone takes care of the house.

This image is called beneath the roses Einstein's dream. Which depicts an unhappy couple in a bed room this symbolizes how Einstein had a dream to change physics for ever but he could change his own life. Another meaning could be that the couple are standing far apart because they have an unhappy marrage and don't want to be in the same bed.
